Grace Evans is a research associate at the Institute for Literary Theory and Comparative Literature at Goethe University Frankfurt. Since November 2024, she has been part of the BMBF joint project, "Lost in Archives" (website of the project in german), which uses archival research to highlight the contributions of women in traditionally male domains of the 18th and 19th centuries. The Frankfurt sub-project, led by Dr. Marília Jöhnk (who is also a member of the CGC), focuses on literary criticism. Evans is also working on her dissertation, provisionally titled Unseen Critics: Women and Literary Reviews from Enlightenment to Modernity [pdf], which she is writing in English. Her research interests include English and German literature, comparative literature, Literary Gender and Queer studies, Animal studies, the literature of Virginia Woolf, modernism, and literary criticism. She earned her bachelor's degree in English and modern languages from the University of Exeter and her master's degree in comparative literature from Goethe University Frankfurt.
